Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles

Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles Gameplay

Let's rewind to 2008, long before Assassin's Creed became the sprawling franchise it is today. Back then, the original Assassin's Creed was still fresh in everyone's minds, captivating players with its historical setting and revolutionary (for the time) free-running gameplay. While console and PC players were getting to know Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad in all his high-definition glory, a smaller, but equally ambitious, adventure was brewing for handheld devices:

Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles!

This prequel, specifically designed for Nintendo DS and other mobile platforms, took players back before the events of the first Assassin's Creed. It chronicles a younger, more impetuous Altaïr, tasked with retrieving a powerful artifact, the Chalice, before the Templars can get their grubby mitts on it. Expect scaled-down versions of the free-running mechanics, puzzle-solving elements, and a story that fills in some of the gaps in Altaïr's early years within the Assassin Brotherhood.

While it might not have the graphical fidelity or open-world freedom of its console counterpart, Altaïr's Chronicles offered a compelling Assassin's Creed experience on the go. Get ready to experience the Crusades from a whole new, pixelated perspective! Just be warned, some of those platforming sections can be brutal!
